​Kernel Condition with Variations in Roasting Temperature on Yield and Quality of Candlenut Oil

Background: Candlenut is one of the vegetable oil-producing plants as a source biodiesel raw materials. One innovations to increase production and quality candlenut oil by treating kernels before roasting. Kernel condition (whole or fine powder) roasting temperature affects production. This study aims determine kernel at various temperatures on production, yield oil. Methods: Using one-factor completely randomized design, conditions with variations in consists 7 (seven) levels, such T0= Finely ground kernel, without roasting; T1= Whole roasted 80°C for hour, then mashed; T2= 90°C T3= 100°C T4= finely baked hour; T5= T6= hour. Each treatment was repeated 5 times further tested Duncan’s multiple range test 0.01 level. Result: The results showed that powder resulted higher weight compared unroasted whole kernels. best were found 90°C. lowers free fatty acid content oil, produce lower acids than lowest
